Our Inventory

Our inventory is arranged by availability. You can either browse through one of the four sections via the links below or click on a row in the Inventory Index to go directly to a bike of interest.

If you don't see a bike in the inventory that suits your needs, please make your request anyhow. We often have access to bikes from other sources that are not included in the inventory.

Note: Bikes in the "On Request" section can be fixed up and available in approximately 1-2 weeks after request.

Note: Photos are mostly "before" photos. The bikes generally look almost new after restoration.

  • Repair in process. Not yet ready for distribution.

Women's 26" Huffy 3 Speed. This bike is a classic and needs a lot of work to be refurbished. While it can probably be made functional, I would like to restore it to original condition. To do this I will need to find a rear fender and chain guard.

Women's 26" Schwinn Ranger. This bike is almost brand new. Unfortunately, it got up-close and personal with a garage door. Note the weird angle of the fork as well as the severely bent rear wheel. If we can find a fork that will fit, this bike is probably salvageable, otherwise, it will be spare parts.

We've had this bike for a long time and the fork appears to be somewhat unique. We haven't found a replacement yet. Since we have a nice Peugot frame that has a mixture of odd-ball shifters, brakes and derailleurs, we may scavenge the components from this one to make Bike 042 a nice ride. At first look, it appears that everything will fit.

1950 Vintage Men's Humber. This is probably on the verge of being an antique. Humber was an English company that made cars and bicycles until 1932, when they sold the bicycle part to Raleigh in England. This bike has several interesting characteristics that you don't see on today's bicycles, such as:

    • Drum brakes connected to the brake levers via solid steel rod linkages
    • Locking steerer tube
    • Locking rear wheel

We will take our time to restore this one and see what we come up with.

This 27" Falcon Black Diamond road bike is a blast from the past. As near as we can tell, the bike dates from the early 70's and was made in North Linconshire, England. While it generally seems to be in functional condition, it has been in storage for quite some time and is in dire need of new tires, handlebar tape and cables as well as a lot of elbow grease and lube. With a little TLC, this 10 speed bike should be ready for the road. While we have put this bike in the "Ready on Request" section, it is possible that unforseen issues will come up when we start to clean it up. If anyone wants it, we'll give it a shot.

Interestingly, the Falcon Cycle Company traces its roots back to 1880 and is still around. You can check them out at http://www.falconcycles.co.uk/index.html

This bike cleaned up very nice. Unfortunately, once it was reassembled, we noticed a bent chain ring and a missing chain ring bolt. The bolt is apparently missing because the threads in the chain ring are stripped. We also don't like the condition of the headset. It appears that it has been previously "repaired" and perhaps the top bearing has been replaced with loose ball bearings of different sizes. We don't think this bike is safe to ride as it is, however if someone wants the frame, they are welcome to it.

This is a well used 12" Dora the Explorer bicycle. While we might be able to get this one cleaned up enough to put on the road, we would prefer not to let it go to a toddler without the chain guard. We'll hang onto it for a while to see if we can find something to fix it with.

This LeJune Champion Du Monde is a classic French bike, probably from the 80's. It has 27" tires, 12 speeds and a stand-over height of 32". It is in good working order, but we'll clean it up a bit and get some new tires on it.

Unfortunately, both jockey wheels on the rear derailleur have missing teeth. Until we find some replacements, this bike is out of commission.

If we can get this Peugeot City Express fixed up, it should be a great commuter bike for someone. It has 26" tires, 18 speeds and a 32" stand-over height. Unfortunately, it has been exposed to the elements for quite some time. In addition to a good scrubbing to remove the rust, it needs tires, hand grips, cables, brake pads and a seat. We think this one will be well worth the effort when we get done.

Near as we can tell, this is a 1950's era bicycle. It has considerable rust but the tires are in suprisingly good shape. The bike is VERY heavy and it's a single speed with coaster brake on the back wheel and a hand brake on the front. The rear hub has some issues, but it can either be fixed or replaced. A single speed 26" wheel shouldn't be too hard to find. It will take a lot of TLC to get the rust off the handlebars, chain, fenders and wheels, but once cleaned up, it should be a great bike for someone who lives on flat ground.

27" 1983 Schwinn World Tourist. This is a sweet classic bike that comes to us in very good condition. Initial inspection shows that it needs a good clean and lube as well as new cables. This bike is unique in that it has a front freewheel, which means that the freewheel is in the crank and the chain turns when not pedaling. This allows the rear derailleur to be shifted while coasting.

We finished this bike up at the request of a woman who wants to get back into cycling after a 30 year hiatus. She wanted to borrow a bike until she decided what she wanted to buy, so we provided this one. This one may come back to us one day.

26" Womens 10 speed Huffy Olympia. This bike is fundamentally in great shape. It needs tires and probably tubes as well as new cables and a good clean and lube. Once complete, this will be a great bike for riding around town.

Since the wheels on CS015 didn't match and we had a request for it, we swapped out the wheels for this one and put them on CS015.

We cleaned this one up, got some new tires and cables and got it road worthy for Danielle, a young woman with some back issues that wants to try to get back into some lightweight cycling. If things don't work out, we might see this one back again.

  • Donated to Tioga County Council on the Arts for fund raiser.

10 Speed Marlboro Tiger Mountain Bike. You won't find anything like this in this country since it was imported from England by yours truly in 1997. This is the bike that got me into serious biking and while I hate to let it go, someone can use it more than me. It needs a fair amount of work, particularly on the front hub; the bearings and cones are shot. Other than that, some minor cable and lube work should bring it up to Southern Tier Bike Project standards. This bike is very rugged and is suitable for an adult in the 5'10"-6'2" range. This bike was intended for the Tioga County Family Fun Event, however a last minute inspection revealed badly worn rear bearings, prompting us to substitute Bike 017. The bearings have since been replaced and this bike is now ready for distribution.

This mid-range 12 speed Schwinn from the '80s is a good solid bike. The rear wheel is quite crooked and we hope we can true it up. Other than that, some cables, tires, handlebar tape and elbow grease will have this one ready for the road.

This classic mid 70's Raleigh Grand Prix is in great shape. It has 10 speeds, 27" tires and a stand-over height of 31 1/2 inches. It even comes complete with a handlebar bag to keep your touring necessities in while you ride. A great starter bike for road or touring use.

This is a well used 16" Girls Quest Sea Star. This bike is almost indentical to Bike 035 and hopefully, between the two of them, we can come up with one good bike.

After stealing parts from this bike for Bike 035, there wasn't much left, so we gave it away to someone who was interested in the fork and front wheel for a sporting project.

  • Given to a BU student for transportation on a summer job.

This 27" 10 speed touring bike has a somewhat foggy past. We can't find out anything about the Zebra bike company, however there are some who believe this is a renamed version of a Zebrakenko bike made in Japan since the early 1900's. This bike is probably from the 70's era and it has a very upright geometry, which is why we're calling it a Touring Bike. The bike has a 35" stand-over height, so it would be suitable for someone quite tall.

This bike cleaned up quite nicely. It only needs a final road test and it will be ready to go. The pedegree of this brand of bicycle is still somewhat of a mystery. If anyone knows more about this brand of bike, please let us know!

This "almost like new" 24 inch 12 speed girls mountain bike can be ready to go in short order. It needs a clean and lube and possibly some new cables and it should be good to go. If this description sounds familiar, it should. This bike is almost identical to Bike 025.

This one is all cleaned up and lubed. It is ready to go except that we are not quite satisfied with how the rear derailleur shifts. We're going to try replacing the cables to see if that fixes the problem.

The cables have been replaced and this one is ready to go!

This 26" 21 speed Mantis Ghost mountain bike has some serious issues to be resolved before we can let it go. The rear derailleur is badly bent and the front shocks are frozen. If we can get the derailleur straightened to the point that it will shift properly, perhaps it will still be ok even if the front shocks don't work. We'll take a shot at it and see what we come up with.

24" 18 Speed Huffy Ultra Terrain Extreme mountain bike. This bike needs significant work to free up the rusty derailleurs and brakes. At this point, we're not sure it can be restored, but if nothing else, there are some parts that can be salvaged.

Many parts have been cannibalized from this bike to get others on the road. It is no longer viable to fix this one

This Motobecane is NOT to be confused with the current Motobecane USA bikes that can be found online and in catalogs. Motaobecane was established in 1923 in France and they made bicycles, motorcycles and mopeds until 1981 when they were purchased by Yamaha. When they were making bicycles they were second only to Peugeot for quality bicycles.

This bike has a 10 speed drive train, 27" tires and a 23" frame with 33" stand-over height. As far as we can tell, a good clean and lube and possibly some new cables is all this bike needs to be ready for the road. It's a beauty. As a nice added touch, it has a well worn, but fully functional Brooks saddle.

Not sure if we should include this one in the inventory or not. Since it's only missing a front wheel, we decided to include it since if someone really needs it, we should be able to find a front wheel somewhere. Anyhow, it's a department store variety 10 Speed Western Flyer road bike that is fairly typical of the 1980's vintage bikes we've been seeing. With a little elbow grease (and of course a front wheel), this will probably be a good solid bike.

We found a front wheel for this one and it turned out to be a very nice bike. You might see Emily riding it around Binghamton!
